10th UNWTO Silk Road Ministers’ Meeting
4 March 2020 | 12:00-14:00; CityCube Berlin, Room A8 (Messe Berlin)
The 10th edition of the Silk Road Ministers Meeting at ITB Berlin 2020 will focus on how to channel and make investments along the Silk Road viable through tourism.
With global development initiatives and financial institutions already heavily investing in sustainable and competitive projects throughout the Silk Road, UNWTO would like to ensure that the cross-cutting nature of tourism is adequately recognized and referenced within any future development plan or project affecting the strategic region.
By bringing together Silk Road countries, donor organizations and private investments, the meeting will not solely explore how to raise investments, but also work to ensure that the potential investments raised are targeted and channeled towards actual needs and sustainable objectives.
A roundtable on investments, where donor institutions active throughout the region will share and outline their investment approach, will be followed by a Ministerial debate, where countries will outline their projects and strategies that should help realize a Silk Road tourism route fitted to the globalized age we live in.
Meeting to be conducted in English
Simultaneous interpretation of English and Russian will be available
Meeting organized by UNWTO, and supported by ITB Berlin.
